Whisky Roads Less Travelled

They say that youth is wasted on the young, but I beg to differ after curating the whiskies for this year’s Spirit of Toronto 2025 Collection: our annual tasting kit where we present the drams and conversations that we think whisky lovers in Canada should taste and hear.

For 2025 we’ve focused exclusively on Scotland, but with a view towards the whisky roads less travelled, searching out distilleries that may not seek the limelight, but are worthy of your attention nonetheless.

Personally, I love a whisky that isn’t afraid to show off it’s youth, so I can’t wait to be the first in Canada to offer whisky lovers a taste of the newly minted Springbank 5 Year Old. (Spoiler alert: I’ve had to hide this one from Charles, it’s soooo good.)

I also have full respect for an NAS whisky that gives more than it takes, so I look forward to spreading the love for Arran’s Bodega Cask and Lochlea’s Ploughing Edition. We also preview the first single malt whisky to be launched by the InchDairnie Distillery, and it’s a peated, sherried number that you won’t want to miss.

By comparison Kilchoman and Tomatin seem like elder statesmen at ten and twelve years respectively, and we have big respect for what they bottle, as we do for Old Pulteney and Glen Scotia, two coastal distilleries that never let us down as the weather cools.

Tasting kits are now available for pre-ordering, and we’re offering Free Shipping on all orders placed between now and Thanksgiving, because Thanksgiving:
