Spirit of Toronto invites you to Discover Italy!

Organized in collaboration with

Spirit of Toronto is excited to be welcoming back the Italian Trade Commission to this year’s show, and we invite our guest to discover the taste of Italy through a tantalizing array of aperitivi, digestivi, liqueurs, and grappa!

We look forward to having our Mezzanine Bar transformed into a slice of Italy, featuring cocktails, platters of salumi and cheese direct from Italy, and the very best in artisanal spirits, liqueurs and amaros from some of Italy’s most storied producers — salute!

Spirit of Toronto also extends a warm welcome to the Mediterranean Aperitivo Project, an information and awareness-raising campaign for the Protected Geographic Indication (PGI) of Vermouth di Torino, Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) of Pecorino Toscano, PGI of Costa d’Amalfi Lemon, and Olives from Greece

The four products create the experience of the Mediterranean Aperitivo, a convivial moment to be enjoyed with high-level European Quality products.

  • Vermouth di Torino is Italy’s most famous aromatized wine, particularly enjoyed by the royal court of the Savoy family. This product, which can be found in the most iconic cocktails worldwide, will be presented in its purest form to focus on its characteristics and flavours.

  • Pecorino Toscano PDO is synonymous with rural history and a community that in solitude, in marginal and challenging areas has pastured for centuries their large flocks of sheep. This cheese can be either soft or semi-hard, fresh or matured and it is made exclusively with sheep’s milk.

  • The Lemons of the Amalfi Coast is also known as “Sfusato”: it has an intense aroma, an elliptical and elongated shape, and a medium-large size (at least 100 grams). The cultivation changed the landscape providing the Amalfi Coast with a relevant part of the environment and colors that make it recognizable in the world.

  • In Greece, Olive Oil has been used in many different ways since ancient times and the olive tree was associated with culture, religion, nutrition, and health. Today there are about 150 million olive trees in Greece, 2,800 olive mills, and 600 thousand families sustain themselves cultivating olives.
